Job Summary

PSEG is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer Electric to support the operation of our Electric Distribution system, which operates 24/7 and 365 days a year. As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering expertise and management to ensure the integrity of our Electric Transmission and Distribution System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to clients and associate support staff to develop and deploy efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Utilize a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices, including financial and cost management.
  • Support supervision of field forces, supervision/direction of craft/construction and/or engineering personnel in a union environment, work management, project management, and other technical and administrative duties.
  • Coordinate and assemble information and various reports required for regulatory, internal, and senior leadership review.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline relevant to the required discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Electric Transmission and Delivery operations.
  • Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant technologies, such as network protocols, electric technology, and regulatory controls.
  • Ability to read applicable technical documents and/or schematics.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history.
  • On-call 24/7 hours to assist during system emergency situations and restoration.
  • Willingness to perform regularly scheduled weekend and holiday work in conjunction with quality checks and reporting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a relevant technical field.
  • Advanced degree, technical training, or E.I.T. certification or P.E. license.
