Job Title: Trailer Spotter

Job Summary:
At Dot Transportation, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Trailer Spotter to join our team. As a Trailer Spotter, you will be responsible for moving trailers between pads, doors, and buildings in a timely manner. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
Moving trailers between pads, doors, and buildings on a timely basis
Sliding tandems to meet state bridge laws
Weighing outbound and finished trailers accurately
Getting trailer reloaded when trailer is overweight
Checking trailers to ensure all trailers are secure (locked) in the yard
Inspecting trailer registration, inspections, and other documentation
Inspecting trailer suspension, sliding tandem rails, and all pins out, frame, and cross members for structural integrity, brakes, and lights
Inspecting spotter tractors and fuel truck, basic maintenance, and fueling
Checking refrigerator unit operation
Performing yard, trailer, and dock checks
Completing a yard tracking sheet to be turned in after each shift
Performing basic communications, radio, and personal
Trailer washouts when needed

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
CDL certification with HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements
Must meet the Department of Transportation physical and drug screening requirements
Safe driving record
Ability to get in and out of a truck as many as 120 a shift or more
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, with an average of 16 to 25 lbs
