Position Overview
The CT Imaging Specialist is a qualified professional who has completed an accredited program recognized by the AMA and holds registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). This role is essential in delivering accurate diagnostic imaging services to both inpatients and outpatients, under the supervision of a Radiologist and in accordance with departmental protocols.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the CT Imaging Specialist encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Executing fundamental radiographic procedures
  • Conducting fluoroscopy and portable radiographic tasks
  • Performing C-arm procedures and imaging services in the operating room

The specialist is expected to demonstrate expertise in standard diagnostic CT scanning procedures, which include but are not limited to:

  • CT imaging of the head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis, and extremities
  • Biopsy and drainage procedures

Essential Knowledge
The CT Imaging Specialist should possess a solid understanding of:

  • CT system processing
  • Surgical and sterile procedures
  • Studies involving contrast media and cross-sectional anatomy

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduation from an accredited AMA program
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • State licensure as a general radiographer
  • Demonstrated proficiency in routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures

Work Schedule
The work schedule includes Monday through Thursday, with an on-call requirement averaging five days per month. The specialist will also assist the department with general X-ray duties as needed.
