Geotechnical Engineer Job Description

As a geotechnical engineer at Terracon, you will be responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment, demonstrating adherence to safety practices, and providing geotechnical engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize the initial design and/or investigative approach for major phases of larger projects or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on projects of moderate scope.
  • Manage geotechnical projects including schedule, budget, and quality while maintaining a safe working environment for field personnel.
  • Provide oversight and review of projects requiring standard investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients.
  • Perform calculations, analysis, and write reports and proposals for standard to complex geotechnical projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis.
  • Minimum 1 year experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) required and ability to obtain a registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Terracon offers a competitive salary range of $65,300 to $101,200 per year, based on individual qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and holidays, education reimbursement, and various bonus programs.
