Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Diesel Mechanic to join our team at KBR. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and repairing combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles.
  • Inspect and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy-duty equipment.
  • Perform operator, intermediate, and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance, including spot painting.
  • Work with technical manuals, lubrication orders/instructions, and modification instructions to repair rolling stock assets.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with established methods, safety standards, quality standards, and time schedules.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Four years directly related work experience.
  • Certificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in electrical or automotive repair is preferred.
  • MVAC 609 Technician Certification.
  • Ability to detect faulty items, determine cause of malfunction, and determine best repair methods.
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, repair, or modify components and systems.
  • Working knowledge of heavy-duty machinery, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and other parts and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of the basic automotive mechanics course, or equivalent.
  • Completion of the automotive organizational maintenance course, or equivalent.
  • Completion of the automotive intermediate maintenance course, or equivalent.
  • Advanced motor transport maintenance courses.
