The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is one of the largest museums in the United States, dedicated to modern and contemporary art. As an Administrative Project Coordinator for Collections, Exhibitions, and Design (CED), you will provide essential support to the Chief CED Officer, Director of Exhibitions & Program Management, and other senior staff members.

Job Description

This role involves coordinating exhibitions and collections programs across the institution, including designing, planning, and executing exhibitions and design initiatives. You will work collaboratively with Department Heads, Project Managers, and Coordinators to ensure efficient administrative services for all teams within the Division.

  • You will serve as the primary administrator for CED project management platforms Asana and AirTable, entering/confirming information and building custom projects for Departments across CED.
  • As a key liaison between CED and other departments, you will coordinate exhibition development presentations, assist in developing and reviewing exhibition-related contracts, and circulate external exhibition proposals for review.
  • You will also collaborate with Curatorial to coordinate the bi-annual All Staff Exhibitions Program Presentation and keep staff up-to-date on exhibitions activities by posting updated exhibition calendars and managing departmental contacts lists.
Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced administrative assistant with a strong background in museum practices and missions. You should have excellent organizational and analytical skills, be able to communicate effectively, and build trusting relationships with internal and external colleagues.

A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position is required, along with proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Experience using Asana or a similar project management system and Artifax or similar event management system is highly desired.

Benefits

SFMOMA offers a competitive salary of $29.79-$35.75 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to your compensation, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, pet insurance, life and AD&D coverage, disability insurance, mental health and wellness benefits, discount programs, pre-tax commuter benefits, and a 403(b) retirement savings plan.
