Critical Care Nurse Role at University of New Mexico - Hospitals

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in our critical care unit. As a critical care nurse, you will work within the nursing process to ensure the highest level of patient care.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, including medication administration and documentation
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans
* Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel
* Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
* Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and families

**Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A degree in nursing from an accredited program
* At least one year of direct experience in a critical care setting
* CPR certification for healthcare providers
* A valid RN license in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement state

**Working Conditions**

This role requires:

* Heavy physical exertion, including lifting and moving patients
* Exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring personal protective equipment
