Job Summary

L. W. Tank Repair Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Truck Painter to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for applying high-quality industrial paint finishes to parts, sub-assemblies, and completed trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive instructions and detailed prints to ensure accurate and efficient painting processes.
  • Prepare units for painting by performing tasks such as dismantling equipment, washing, drying, and removing masking.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure units, parts, and assemblies are properly prepared before painting.
  • Operate spray equipment and select and mix paint to desired consistency.
  • Clean and maintain spray rooms, adjust and clean spray guns, pumps, and tanks as required.
  • Perform hand buffing and polishing operations as needed.
  • Apply paint to specified thickness and avoid runs, ensuring compliance with company and paint manufacturers' standards.
  • Maintain proper inventory of supplies and assist in controlling inventory levels.
  • Responsible for meeting quality standards and performing tests to ensure compliance.
  • Use various equipment and tools, including paint brushes, spray guns, pumps, and other machines and equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrate safe practices when using ladders and respiration devices.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
  • Shop floor environment experience.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion and use small and large tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and conditions.
