Healthcare Professional for PCU Unit

A Healthcare Professional is needed to join our team at Health Creighton University Medical Center. The successful candidate will work as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.
About the Role
This RN position requires ACLS and BLS certification, as well as experience working with telemetry systems. A strong understanding of PCU nursing practices and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role. Schedule Information: This position involves 12-hour shifts, including days and nights, with a minimum of every 3rd weekend requirement. Self-scheduling is implemented using cyclic scheduling.
Unit Details
The PCU unit is located on the 4th Floor East Wing of the hospital and provides care to adult and pediatric patients. The RN Ratio is 1:4 during the day and 1:4 at night, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients. Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are managed through EPIC, and IV pumps are Alaris devices. Additional equipment available includes mechanical lifts in every other room.
Common Patient Diagnoses
Patients in the PCU may be diagnosed with conditions such as CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, or weakness. Common drips and medications include PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin. To ensure a positive patient experience, hourly rounding and responsiveness are prioritized. The unit is committed to delivering exceptional care, focusing on providing individualized attention to each patient's needs.
Salary and Benefits
