Job Overview: The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is seeking a Youth Basketball Instructor to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading preschool basketball classes, working with children aged 3-5 years old. You'll need to be able to communicate effectively with children and parents, as well as plan and teach engaging sports sessions.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and teach preschool basketball classes.
  • Interact and encourage children to participate in activities during classes.
  • Teach/model appropriate techniques and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with students in a patient, friendly manner.

Requirements:
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification from an approved organization.
  • Knowledge and expertise in basketball.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with youth participants and their parents/guardians.
  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in sports activities.
  • Ability to lift equipment and small to average-sized children.
  • Ability to see and supervise children.
  • Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper sports techniques.
