Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as a vital member of the Pulmonary Care Unit team, providing direct and indirect patient care to meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. The LPN communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care, including monitoring cardiac rhythm patterns and analyzing and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
  • Communicates variances to physicians, charge nurses, and registered nurses.
  • Performs clerical support tasks, such as answering telephones, entering physician orders, and maintaining patient records.
  • Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Communicates with physicians and team members regarding changes in patient clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Requirements:

  • Commit to enrolling in RN program within two years of hire date and obtaining RN licensure within 5 years of hire date.
  • Rotating 12-hour shifts.
  • 36 hours per week.
