Job Opportunity

Paul Mitchell Schools is seeking a licensed Cosmetology & Barber Instructor who has a positive attitude, is motivated and energetic, and is versatile in their technical skills and a proven success in salon skills, including retailing and building clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver classes on men's cutting and grooming, hair color, cosmetology theory, and professional development, using the Paul Mitchell systems and culture.
  • Student Coaching and Assistance: Actively coach and assist students on clinic classroom to include technical assistance as well as coaching on barbershop and salon success skills such as guest consultations, re-booking, and retailing.
  • Culture Modeling: Model the Paul Mitchell culture and positive professional habits for our students.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Possess a Barbering or Cosmetology License in the State of California.
  • Professional Experience: Professional experience in Barbering or Cosmetology; teaching experience would be a major plus.
  • Salon Success: Proven successful salon/barber shop experience with strong results in building clientele, up-selling, rebooking, and retailing.
  • Passion for Education: Passion for educating, learning, and helping others is an absolute must.
Skills and Competencies
  • Licensure: Current California Barbering or Cosmetology license.
  • Experience: 3 years full-time experience working as a barber or Cosmetologist.
  • Skills: Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Supervision and Teamwork: Skills in supervision, teamwork, documentation, and return on investment.
  • Work History: Solid work history with verifiable references.
  • Industry Knowledge: Passion for the beauty and barbering industries.
  • Professionalism: Honesty and professionalism.
  • Cultural Knowledge: Knowledge in Paul Mitchell Schools' cultural and technical systems is preferred.
