Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automated Side Load Driver to join our team at Waste Pro North Carolina. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a refuse collection vehicle on pre-assigned routes, collecting and dumping garbage and refuse, and providing exceptional customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive a refuse collection vehicle on pre-established routes, adhering to defensive driving practices and Decision Driving principles.
  • Collect and dump garbage and refuse into refuse trucks, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Provide Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operation.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customer, and municipal goals, ensuring a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Perform Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections, completing Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
Requirements
  • Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works, with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices, as well as Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch, and supervisors.
Work Environment

As an Automated Side Load Driver, you will work in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations, noise, and vibrations. You must be physically able to push or pull independently 50 pounds between 800 and 1000 times a day, lift independently 50 pounds from the ground to waist height between 800 and 1000 times a day, and get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 800 and 1000 times a day.
