Position Summary:

Become a vital part of a thriving financial team within Montana's largest non-profit home health and hospice organization. The Junior Accountant will assist the Controller with various accounting functions across multiple service lines. A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage reconciliations and deposits for accounts payable and receivable as instructed.
  2. Prepare journal entries, monthly financial statements, and year-end close processes.
  3. Support the Controller with monthly audits, reports, and financial statements as needed.
  4. Generate reports and analyses as requested.
  5. Coordinate 401K and insurance benefit deductions in partnership with HR.
  6. Prepare and submit 401K HSA/FSA contributions with third-party vendors.
  7. Process accounts payable invoices using Concur software.
  8. Record cash transactions within accounting systems.
  9. Serve as a backup for payroll processing as trained.
  10. Assist the Controller with budget analysis tasks.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Technological Tools:

Utilize SAP ByDesign, Concur, Home Care Home Base, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), CareTend, and UKG.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Further education in accounting is highly encouraged.

Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A four-year degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
  • Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and spreadsheets is essential.
  • Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.
  • A background in healthcare is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, is necessary.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, involving sedentary work with frequent sitting and standing. The role may require occasional bending and lifting of light objects. The ability to focus on close tasks is essential.
