Duties include:

  • Providing mechanical engineering support for the development of individual weapon components
  • Supporting all aspects of design, prototype, testing, and manufacturing
  • Collaborating with machine shop for prototyping and preparing designs using 3D CAD modeling software
  • Documenting designs using the Army's design standards and GD&T
  • Writing test plans and working closely with testing groups
  • Developing and presenting reports
  • Working with manufacturing teams to develop functional prototypes
  • Supporting mature designs currently in production

This position requires travel up to 25% and the ideal candidate will have good mechanical skills and experience, be a self-starter, and able to work autonomously. They will also have experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD, and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). A high standard of quality and efficiency is required, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly, and be fluent in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline is required, and 3-8 years of experience with mechanical engineering or a similar discipline is preferred. Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply.
