Job Summary:

Jackson State University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality research-based instruction to initial and advanced level candidates, collaborating with college and departmental faculty to ensure appropriate curriculum design and program evaluation, and mentoring and supervising teacher candidates during field and clinical experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality research-based instruction to initial and advanced level candidates using traditional, hybrid, and online instructional delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with college and departmental faculty to ensure appropriate curriculum design and program evaluation.
  • Mentor and supervise teacher candidates during field and clinical experiences.
  • Advisement and mentorship for initial and advanced level candidates.
  • Collaboration with educational agencies and community partners.
  • Engage in scholarly activities which lead to the publication of quality research and securing external funding.
  • Contribute to the mission of the university and profession through service activities.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Special Education or closely related discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a licensed educator in a K-12 setting.
