Position Title: Field AV Engineer Department: Operations Reports To: Vice President of Customer Success Objective: This role is crucial for overseeing, installing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting the electronic, hardware, and wiring elements of audio-visual systems in accordance with company standards. Reporting to the Vice President of Customer Success, the Field AV Engineer is integral to the Operations team, contributing to our mission of delivering a top-tier sales and AV integration program. This position involves extensive travel to customer sites for device configuration, control code loading, testing, commissioning, and project close-out, adhering to company policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices. Key Responsibilities: The Field AV Engineer will independently commission audio-visual systems at job sites with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Loading and configuring Crestron and Extron control systems
  • Setting up and programming DSP to align with design specifications
  • Commissioning and testing systems both on-site and remotely
  • Collaborating with sales and operations to ensure project alignment with customer expectations
  • Fostering teamwork and effective communication across various departments including Operations, Sales, Design, Accounting, Procurement, and Purchasing
  • Troubleshooting systems in collaboration with field technicians
  • Executing additional duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive experience in the AV industry
  • Proficiency with Crestron Toolbox
  • Familiarity with Extron Global Configurator Plus/Pro
  • Experience working alongside customer IT departments
  • Knowledge in installation, wiring, and rack assembly
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make critical decisions under pressure
  • Experience in providing end-user training
  • Effective troubleshooting and time management capabilities
  • Willingness to travel frequently and on short notice
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug tests prior to employment
  • Professional demeanor and approachability
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Capability to lift 40 pounds and complete safety training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AV industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS and CTS-I
  • Audio DSP certifications like Biamp and Q-SYS
  • Experience with video teleconferencing systems
  • Comfortable with direct written communication
