Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Shoreline Diagnostics. As a key member of our Microbiology department, you will be responsible for setting up and validating laboratory protocols, reviewing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, and performing complex analytical testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager and Medical Director to establish workflow and Standard Operating Procedures in Microbiology.
  • Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phase testing of all complexities as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act.
  • Read, interpret, and report culture results for Aerobic and Anaerobic Bacteriology and Mycology, including automated and manual MIC and susceptibility methods.
  • Train and ensure Microbiology trainees are following procedures and providing guidance.
  • Responsible for proficiency testing in the department.
  • Uphold Shoreline Diagnostics' Policies and Procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as microbiology or clinical laboratory science; advanced degree preferred.
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (California); ASCP certification with experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Microbiology, with a strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, upper management, and external stakeholders.
