Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist with the Cherokee Nation, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. This position requires a strong foundation in radiography, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic radiological procedures within the scope of practice, including receiving and preparing patients and equipment for procedures.
  • Maintain supplies for the radiology department and ensure that all necessary patient documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Operate routine radiographic equipment in a safe and proficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patient care team members to answer questions and ensure that all duties are completed accurately.
  • Enter data accurately into the computer system(s) and ensure the completeness of patient paperwork.
  • Exhibit professional and courteous customer service at all times, demonstrating knowledge of Age-Specific Criteria in carrying out work duties and tasks.
  • Recognize patient distress signs, initiate, and follow emergency procedures, and maintain current required licensure and certifications.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement activities, identifying new ways to improve workflows and the patient experience.
  • Manage patient flow effectively, minimizing delays by utilizing critical thinking to analyze and evaluate simple cause and effect outcomes.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school in Radiology, or successful completion of a formal education program accredited by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
  • Current certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
Working Environment

This position requires regular exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
