Job Overview

Mark III Construction is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate estimates for electrical components of assigned projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating, with experience working on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. You will be responsible for developing detailed estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Mark III Construction's estimating system, including computer programs, manuals, procedures, and forms.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend/lead pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Develop and provide complete, accurate, and timely detailed estimates representing a project's electrical system, costs, associated general conditions, required overhead, and profit.
  • Perform quantity take-off of electrical materials for plan/spec and design-build projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotes and specification compliance.
  • Maintain all files of working bid documents, notes, and assumptions of project estimates.
  • Perform layout of electrical systems as required to provide a complete system for estimating purposes when documents are not complete.
  • Define productivity requirements for the uniqueness of each project.
  • Develop conceptual budget estimates from system narratives and/or system sketches.
  • Design electrical service systems for projects, including building and pre-construction services.
Requirements
  • Possess skill set to perform estimating process support for plan/spec; design assist, and design-build delivery methods.
  • Proficient in structuring the estimate and setting up models to support the unique project RFP language defining costs components.
  • Ability to read and understand a complete set of plans to include all construction trades and be familiar with a variety of electrical systems and terminology.
  • Above-average skills in Microsoft Office products and computer trends/technology.
  • Strong mathematical skills and familiarity with Bluebeam and Accubid Anywhere with LiveCount Cloud.
  • Ability to balance and effectively work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Have strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with vendors, customers, field personnel, sales, and office staff in a friendly, professional manner at all times.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency in completing assignments.
  • Display pride of workmanship and accept responsibility for his/her professionalism and accuracy.
  • Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.

  • Understand the National Electric Code and the California Electric Code and know how to interpret correctly and have a deep understanding of how to reference code articles for correct estimating purposes.
  • Know and perform, without question, simple engineering for load calculations, voltage drop, conduit fill, and any other requirement of this position which may come.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $135,000 depending on experience.
