Magnet Medical is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Specialist for a travel opportunity in Joliet, Illinois.

Job Summary:

This 13-week assignment requires a skilled professional to work alongside cardiologists and other medical staff in the cardiac catheterization lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining equipment, assisting with catheter-based procedures, and ensuring patient safety during complex interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
    • Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms, before the procedure begins.
    • Assist in the preparation of patients, including setting up monitoring equipment and ensuring proper positioning for optimal results.
    • Provide patient education and reassurance before the procedure, explaining what to expect and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Assisting with Procedures:
    • Work closely with cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
    • Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during the procedure, ensuring correct placement and maintaining a sterile field.
    • Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests, such as angiograms, to visualize blood vessels and heart function.
  • Post-Procedure Care:
    • Monitor patients for immediate complications after the procedure, such as bleeding, changes in vital signs, or signs of infection.
    • Assist in transferring the patient from the procedure table to recovery, ensuring comfort and safety during transport.
    • Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and the insertion site for any signs of complications.
    Requirements and Qualifications:

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have relevant experience in cardiac catheterization and hold the necessary certifications. A strong understanding of radiation safety protocols, infection control measures, and electronic health records is essential.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is based on an hourly rate of $45-$50 per hour, resulting in a total compensation package of approximately $69,000 - $78,000 over the 13-week period. Additionally, a tax-free stipend amount will be provided.
