Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as expertise in clinical laboratory testing and quality assurance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of patient test results, as well as maintaining laboratory licenses and certifications. They will also be responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training laboratory staff, as well as developing quality metrics and reporting findings to department managers and CMO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing of all complexities as defined by CLIA and State of California.
  • Maintaining equipment, inventory, and supplies by establishing operations and troubleshooting procedures and ensuring staff compliance.
  • Writing and updating laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including off-site laboratories.
  • Monitoring routine laboratory functions, corrective actions, and improving laboratory service, including off-site laboratories.
  • Devising and maintaining Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training laboratory staff and conducting competency evaluations.
Requirements
  • Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required.
  • ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in biology or related science.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory required.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance, 11 paid holidays, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending account, 40 hours of sick pay, and 120 hours of PTO accrued within the first year of employment.
