Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician to join our team at the University of Miami. As a Staff Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, with a focus on family medicine and cardiac care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care services to patients, including routine check-ups, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Manage patient care while on shift, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
  • Supervise and direct clinical staff, including medical assistants and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collect and process biological specimens for testing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and medical records.
  • Deliver care, treatment, and referrals as needed, arranging for specialist resources when necessary.
  • Evaluate patients to determine medical conditions, establish diagnoses, and propose treatment plans.
  • Maintain high standards of medical practice and participate in training and development of the medical team.
  • Assist in medical education of patients and clinic staff.
  • Facilitate patient transitions within and between healthcare settings.
  • Exemplify respect, dignity, and privacy in patient care.
  • Participate in development of clinic protocols and formulary.
  • Document procedures, prescriptions, consultations, and patient contacts in patient charts and encounter forms.
  • Counsel patients on medical and other problems affecting their health and well-being.
  • Perform clinical procedures within scope and skill of practitioner/specialist.
  • Provide direction and leadership to medical support staff.
  • Supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants, including sign-off on charts.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Chairman of Family Medicine.
Required Credentials
  • Doctoral degree (MD, DO) and Florida physician license.
  • Three years of experience in family medicine.
  • Graduation from ACGME Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine.
  • Current active state and federal DEA license.
  • Current CPR certification.
