The Clinical Laboratory Specialist II is vital in providing precise and prompt diagnostic data that aids in patient care and treatment decisions.


Responsibilities:

Conducts all procedures related to the examination of laboratory samples, ensuring compliance with established protocols and guidelines to secure accurate and trustworthy test results.

Engages in quality control and assurance measures to uphold precision in sample testing and reporting for effective diagnosis and treatment.

Maintains and troubleshoots advanced equipment and testing systems, documenting corrective measures prior to releasing testing outcomes to contribute to dependable test results.

Organizes responsibilities and manages tasks to meet established laboratory processing timelines for effective patient care and treatment decisions.

Remains current on annual competencies, continuing education tasks, and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance protocols.

Practices efficient utilization of resources and actively participates in inventory management to sustain a cost-effective and well-equipped laboratory. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred:
Six months experience as a technical generalist LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/

Must possess Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from one of the following upon hire: ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) or AMT (American Medical Technologists)
