Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cognitive Neurology Clinic. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient-centered care to individuals with cognitive impairments and dementia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality patient care through direct communication with patients and caregivers.
  • Engage with family members and others interacting with patients to assess and navigate changes in medical conditions, symptom management, and medications.
  • Participate in obtaining pertinent clinical data from patients and caregivers prior to and during clinic visits.
  • Collaborate with other care team providers to provide patients and caregivers with informational materials specific to their diagnosis, stage, and needs.
  • Ensure smooth execution of plan elements, including completion of labs and studies, obtaining prescribed medications, and scheduling of return visits.
  • Communicate with patients and caregivers between visits to follow up on pertinent elements of the plan and address unexpected issues.
  • Communicate with other care team providers within and outside Mass General Brigham, including geriatric psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, social work, and other neurological and medical sub-specialties.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience working primarily with patients with cognitive impairments and dementia.
  • Strong understanding of and interest in working with patients with cognitive impairments and dementia, inclusive of the impact on patients and families as well as related treatments and interventions.
  • Recent experience with telephone or video-based and/or in-person clinical assessment techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Clinical Research experience.
  • Nursing certification in Ambulatory Care or an Ambulatory Specialty area.
