This position plays a crucial role in assisting management to optimize office efficiencies, aligning with established policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations while prioritizing support for physicians, clinic personnel, and management, all while upholding the 'Service First' philosophy to enhance patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a supportive resource to the physician/provider by delivering primary healthcare and managing patient care.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to streamline operations and improve patient flow.
- Engage with external healthcare facilities and agencies concerning patient care and insurance matters.
- Maintain current competencies and effectively communicate with leadership and accreditation bodies regarding processes and workflows.
- Perform front office tasks to provide coverage as necessary.
- Offer assistance in other departments or locations as required.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills and promote a model of patient and family-centered care.
- Undertake additional responsibilities that constitute at least 20% of dedicated time, which may include:
- Identifying primary care gaps in service, outreach, and chart preparation.
- Contributing to residency clinic functions.
- Executing high-level disinfection protocols.
- Serving as a designated preceptor for new hires.
- Participating in or leading special programs or grants (e.g., CPC Plus, SIM, Vaccine for Child Program, process improvement initiatives).
- Engaging in care management activities.
- Acting as a qualified language interpreter.
- Functioning as a Super User for EPIC or specific competencies.
- Providing advanced support to providers, including assistance with complex procedures and scheduling for infusion/chemotherapy.
- Participating in a multi-site or flexible float pool assignment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience is necessary.
- A minimum of six months of relevant experience is required, which may include a completed internship.
- Preferred experience includes 2-3 years in a Medical Assistant role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required upon hire.
- At least one license or certification in a specialty area is required within 90 days.
- Preferred certifications include Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA), Medical Assistant, Registered (RMA), or other relevant credentials.
- Licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is preferred.
