Program Director

About the Role:
The Program Director at Senior Action is responsible for creating an exceptional membership experience through the development and delivery of engaging programs that promote a high quality of life for active adults over 55. The successful candidate will design, implement, and evaluate programs that cater to the needs of members, attract new members, and foster member retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote regular program schedules and value-added initiatives
- Supervise site coordinators and program staff at all Senior Action locations
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and ensure a positive member experience
- Contribute to the overall growth and retention of membership, including individual and corporate memberships
- Monitor the physical environment of buildings, ensuring room setups, refreshments, appearance, cleanliness, and décor meet standards
- Design and publish an activities calendar and newsletter
- Foster member participation and encourage members to reach their full potential through planned activities
- Cultivate leisure time activities, such as games, puzzles, movies, and more
- Coordinate and conduct outside activities, including scenic drives, outings, performing arts, and cultural exhibits
- Plan and implement special events throughout the year
- Develop, train, and oversee a network of community volunteers
- Analyze effectiveness and customer satisfaction of events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Health Promotion, Health, Recreation, or a related field preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training
- Ability to create, manage, and adapt a broad program plan
- Ability to manage a budget and program expenses
- Strong management skills, overseeing coordinators at different locations
- Strong teaching and presentation skills
- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
