The Vascular Imaging Specialist operates under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, demonstrating proactive behavior and the ability to execute care plans effectively. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of surgical instruments and established protocols to ensure that Surgeons receive the necessary sterile instruments and supplies throughout surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

A typical day for a Vascular Imaging Specialist at Hackensack MeridianHealth includes:

  • Completing assignments accurately and within designated timeframes, ensuring that patient-related tasks are fulfilled promptly.
  • Communicating essential patient information and addressing any actual or potential issues, including timely reporting of changes in patient conditions.
  • Adapting to reassignments to prioritize patient care, demonstrating flexibility in work schedules and room assignments.
  • Providing safe and effective direct patient care, adhering to established standards and policies while assisting with various procedures.
  • Maintaining composure and exercising sound judgment during emergency situations, ensuring patient safety and sterility.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, taking the initiative to enhance job performance and participate in departmental activities.
  • Ensuring effective patient outcomes through ethical clinical practice and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, while upholding organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Proficient in performing arterial duplex, ABI/PVR, carotid, venous, and abdominal ultrasounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in vascular ultrasound.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • ARDMS-RVT certification or eligibility to obtain.
