Position Summary:

The Audio/Visual Solutions Architect will play a crucial role in providing technical sales support, consultation, and design engineering to our account management and acquisition teams. This includes developing creative concepts, engineering direction, and comprehensive technical proposals that encompass cost estimates, recommended hardware, and detailed technical narratives. The architect will also be responsible for creating precise technical and equipment budgets in alignment with project specifications, responding promptly to bid requests, and supporting sales initiatives to secure contracts that enhance the profitability of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert technical consultation and support to account management and acquisition teams.
  • Oversee the preparation of proposal packages and actively participate in final sales presentations.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by proactively developing and presenting solution packages aimed at revenue growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on solution technologies, including video walls, control systems, projection mapping, and immersive experiences, aiding Mood Media in selling complex solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and supporting documentation in response to detailed RFPs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to requested formats.
  • Conduct thorough engineering analyses of RFPs, identifying potential errors, omissions, and design flaws, and develop detailed RFIs to clarify and resolve issues.
  • Assist in compiling all pricing elements, including labor analysis, equipment costs, and direct job expenses, necessary for formal proposals.
  • Represent the company in pre-bid and post-bid meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of RFPs and assure clients of our capabilities.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide bid clarifications, design assistance, value engineering studies, and project schedule evaluations.
  • Upon contract award, engage with the Operations project team to provide detailed technical and financial insights, ensuring a clear understanding of project scope, requirements, budget, and timeline.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, representatives, and manufacturers to enhance Mood Media's strategic positioning.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize projects and daily tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

Overnight travel may be required, estimated at 10-25% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in AV Engineering and Systems Design, creative design, and sales processes. Preferred candidates will have formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive field experience in designing, engineering, and managing complex audio, video, projection, and control systems.
  • Strong writing skills, including technical writing and proposal generation, with the ability to create detailed clarifications and scope definitions.
  • Proficiency in business applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), with strong mathematical and budgeting skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and a self-motivated work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented approach to pricing and scope definition.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Understanding and adaptability to customer expectations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale A/V design and build projects.

  • CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, EE, AA, BA, BS, MA, MS.
