Practical/Vocational Nursing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
The Practical/Vocational Nursing Specialist delivers nursing care to clients in alignment with a predetermined care plan, adhering to HCAOA policies and all applicable laws and professional standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide services in accordance with HCAOA policies and the State Nurse Practice Act. Maintain and document clinical notes and progress reports.

Monitor and communicate any signs or symptoms that indicate changes in the client's condition or family dynamics to the Nursing Supervisor, ensuring accurate documentation in the clinical record.

Execute assigned nursing tasks, including the administration of treatments and medications, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, in compliance with the State Nurse Practice Act and the established Plan of Care.

Prepare necessary equipment and materials for treatments while observing aseptic techniques as required. Support clients in learning effective self-care methods. Assist in the rehabilitation of clients according to their individualized care plans. Consult with the Director of Nursing or designated personnel when making decisions regarding care and treatments.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Engage in general office and clerical duties. Participate in community outreach initiatives.

EDUCATION / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY
Must be a graduate of an accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing Program with at least one year of nursing experience within the last five years or have completed an accredited refresher course within the past two years.

Currently licensed and in good standing as a Practical/Vocational Nurse in the respective state. Possess the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to perform all nursing procedures as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.

Demonstrate an understanding of teamwork and the ability to work under supervision. Meet the requirements for personnel providing direct client care. Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English as necessary for the role. Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to an insured vehicle for work-related travel.

Participate in mandatory in-service education programs as required by state law.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Primarily operates in clients' residences, requiring travel. Shift times and days will vary based on client needs.
