Position Overview:

The Nurse Practitioner utilizes administrative resources alongside providing patient care services through digital platforms. The workload is determined by patient needs.

You will collaborate with a committed team of healthcare professionals while independently delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes thorough assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health issues, health education, and planning for patient outcomes.

Patient interactions are recorded using an electronic health record (EHR) system. This position reports directly to the Virtual Care Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality and Safety in Patient Care
  • Assess primary care, acute, chronic, and transitional care patients, while also providing health education and planning for patients aged 18 months and older
  • Offer patient counseling, including pregnancy prevention, STI prevention/safer sex practices, contraceptive care counseling, and medication management
  • Instruct patients on health maintenance and address patient care inquiries
  • Document all patient interactions within an EHR in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Coordinate care for patients with internal and external colleagues, including the broader patient-centered medical home, ensuring optimal care standards are met at all times
  • Collaborate effectively within a patient care team, including fellow Providers, Collaborative Physicians, paraprofessionals, Pharmacists, and other healthcare team members

  • Enhance patient engagement and satisfaction by integrating feedback from patients, management, and professional colleagues
  • Consistently focus on the patient to foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere

  • Work with pharmacy and front store colleagues to ensure a comprehensive patient experience
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in line with PHI and HIPAA regulations

  • Address conflicts using appropriate management strategies
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships among practice staff, healthcare colleagues, and external partners
  • Continuously reprioritize throughout the day to meet patient and business requirements
  • Support the overall patient experience by effectively managing both clinical and non-clinical responsibilities, as well as patient expectations
  • Quickly adapt to new service offerings and patient care models
  • Assist in the recruitment, development, and evaluation of practice staff
  • Perform necessary tasks for clinic operations, including inventory management, following up on lab results, handling incoming calls, ordering supplies, and maintaining clinic cleanliness
  • Business Management
  • Remain accountable for managing business operations, including budget, payroll, inventory, insurance billing, and payment collection
  • Drive the success of your practice through the implementation of the clinic-level business plan aimed at achieving identified business objectives
  • Ensure complete and accurate payment for services through thorough documentation in the patient chart, verification of payment methods (insurance, cash, or a combination) for each visit, and collection of payments as directed by the EMR
  • Complete revenue cycle management tasks, including collecting payments at the time of service for all visits and preparing nightly deposits.

  • Work autonomously, prioritize tasks, solve problems, take initiative, and advocate for patients and the practice
  • Actively engage in professional development through participation in professional groups, organizational committees, and/or additional external experiences
  • Maintain self-awareness and professionalism regarding individual actions and their impact on the clinic, practice, and healthcare sector
  • Continuing education, including requirements for maintaining employment, is the responsibility of the provider

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of relevant medical experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • A minimum of high-speed/broadband internet connectivity with a download speed of at least 25 Mbps and an upload speed of at least 3 Mbps. While a speed test is not required on the resume, candidates should be aware of this requirement.
  • Must possess an unrestricted license in two of the specified states and have the ability to obtain multi-state/compact privileges and licensure in non-compact states as needed by the business.

Education Requirements:

Completion of a Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and a State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role is required.


Candidates must be licensed in at least three of the following states: DC, DE, FL, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, NH, OH, RI, VT
