About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain operating room supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working order.
  • Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Provide care to patients of all ages, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles and applying them to patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or First Assistant (FA) is required; certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) is preferred.
  • At least three to six months of experience in a surgical setting, with training in asepsis and sterile techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
