Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Mather in Tysons. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for our residents, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect floors and furniture in common areas to identify cleaning needs
  • Perform a variety of tasks to clean all types of floors, including vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing carpeted areas
  • Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors with sanitizer; scrub floors to remove stains; buff and wax hard flooring types in resident apartments and common areas
  • Clean upholstery to remove dirt, stains, and odors
  • Clean and store supplies and equipment after use
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning materials
  • Safely operate various types of cleaning equipment
  • Respond to resident requests and promptly report situations requiring follow-up
  • Follow established procedures for use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Create meaningful moments in the lives of residents, visitors, and staff by demonstrating EMI behaviors
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks in resident homes and common areas
  • Recognize and promptly notify supervisor or appropriate staff of low supply levels, maintenance problems, and unsafe acts or conditions
  • Demonstrate responsible use and management of supplies, chemicals, equipment, and utilities
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping and floor cleaning services with other departments
  • Perform duties of Laundry and Housekeeping as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in housekeeping or facilities maintenance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
