Job Overview:

The Operator Concrete Pump Truck Journeyman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of concrete pump trucks, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all safety regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and ACPA standards.
  2. Possess a valid CDL driver license and current DOT physical.
  3. Utilize company-specified personal protective equipment and participate in safety meetings as required.
  4. Ensure the safety of crew members and other personnel during the operation of concrete pumps.
  5. Verify that the vehicle meets DOT compliance standards.
  6. Operate truck-mounted concrete boom pumps and related equipment, including line pumps.
  7. Assess site conditions and set up concrete pump trucks accordingly, including rigging, extending, and operating the boom for concrete placement.
  8. Connect hoses and pipelines to transport concrete to designated areas.
  9. Oversee the placement of concrete in accordance with project specifications.
  10. Load, unload, clean, and maintain concrete pumps and attachments safely and efficiently.
  11. Understand the fundamentals of concrete placement and its properties, including the effects of temperature on concrete.
  12. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of concrete pumps in line with regulations.
  13. Perform preventative and general maintenance on concrete pumps and associated equipment.
  14. Deliver concrete with precision, ensuring it reaches the intended location.
  15. Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints effectively.
  16. Operate concrete mixer controls proficiently.
  17. Clean the drum after each job to prevent concrete residue.
  18. Make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation of the concrete pump.
  19. NCCCO Certification as a Concrete Pump Operator is preferred.
  20. Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
  21. Work effectively in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 48 months of experience in the relevant field is required.
