Role Summary:
Our client is in search of two skilled Business Continuity Consultants to enhance their team.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of essential Business Continuity Management (BCM) methodologies, strategies, and practices.

The selected individual will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic team setting and support (and occasionally lead) the delivery of BCM services across diverse industries.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter capable of managing engagements with minimal oversight. The key responsibility will be to consistently meet client expectations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish credibility with clients and colleagues; be recognized as an effective problem solver.
  • Utilize tools and templates as required.
  • Deliver high-quality BCM and risk management products and services to clients.
  • Ensure that deliverables consistently meet expectations for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal leadership and decision-makers for client accounts.
  • Use company resources efficiently and effectively.

In delivering BCM services to clients:

  • Lead and/or participate as a team member in all aspects of BCM consulting.
  • Develop actionable Project Plans for BCM engagements.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify, assess, quantify, and evaluate areas of risk.

Develop tactical plans for:
  • Emergency response and life safety programming.
  • Crisis management and communications.
  • Business unit continuity.
  • Supply chain resilience.
  • Information technology disaster recovery related to business unit continuity.

  • Create training exercises for key client personnel in their roles during response and recovery activities.
  • Recommend controls and monitor their effectiveness post-BCM implementation as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts to fulfill contract and proposal requirements.
  • Develop governance policies and procedures for the long-term maintenance of BCM strategies and plans based on industry best practices.

Overall Requirements:

  • BA or BS Degree; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
  • Business Continuity certification (BCI or DRII) preferred; CISSP is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning across various industries.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 1600 and ISO standards related to BCM.
  • Familiarity with leading BCM software and Emergency Notification Systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to comprehend complex data and processes, identify gaps, and report on resolutions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills across diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce custom reports that clearly convey findings and methodologies with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally (upon conversion to full-time). A valid and active passport is required.

  • Proximity to major metropolitan areas.
  • Academic or educational experience in BIA/BCP.
  • Ability to engage immediately as part of a startup team.
  • Flexibility to work both remotely and on-site with clients.
  • Experience with data gathering tools is a plus.
