Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs the diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up protocols for the healthcare team focused on cardiology, including standard laboratory procedures.
  • Collects comprehensive medical histories from patients.
  • Conducts thorough physical assessments.
  • Prescribes appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Determines case management strategies, including follow-up visits, lab tests, nursing care, and referrals to other specialties as necessary. When suitable, collaborates with the healthcare team to formulate a comprehensive care plan for the patient.
  • Regularly reviews patient records to ensure accurate documentation and quality medical care.
  • Participates in patient case discussions.
  • Engages in professional development through relevant meetings, conferences, and educational events.
  • Fulfills assigned duties as part of the backup hospital staff.
  • Maintains community engagement to ensure effective and responsive treatment services.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience: In-depth knowledge of the specialized medical field; comprehensive understanding of patient management in a clinical environment; proficiency in diagnosing common and complex medical issues related to cardiology; capability to design and sustain an effective health program that integrates preventive, therapeutic, and proactive measures.

Education:

A licensed physician in Maryland who has successfully completed a medical education program and holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Licenses / Certifications: A current, valid license issued by the Maryland State Board of Physicians to practice medicine.
