Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Sierra Nevada Corporation. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and certifying our cutting-edge products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
  • Examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Perform static and dynamic analyses using industry-standard tools
  • Author substantiation reports and provide technical documentation
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
  • 14 or more years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Advanced experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in engineering simulation using Finite Element structural analysis tools
  • Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles
  • Ability to author substantiation reports
