Role Responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Building Sector will be tasked with:

  • Assisting in the formulation and implementation of objectives and strategies aimed at acquiring new clients, nurturing existing relationships, and concentrating on growth initiatives and market positioning.
  • Overseeing all aspects related to the planning, construction, budgeting/financial management, safety, and compliance with codes for assigned new construction and development projects.
  • Guiding multiple projects and teams through each phase, including pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction services.
  • Building and sustaining client and industry relationships that reinforce the company's commitment to addressing client needs and interests continuously.
  • Collaborating with clients to establish and develop contract terms, effectively communicating expectations to the project team.
  • Engaging with established clients to secure future projects, including preliminary budgeting/estimating and schedule development.
  • Mentoring and coaching Senior Project Managers and project teams to ensure ongoing skill and capability enhancement.
  • Encouraging a collaborative approach with all subcontractors, vendors, and project team members.

Candidate Profile

The ideal Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Building Sector will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
  • Experience in commercial or light industrial projects valued between $1 million and $50 million is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant Project Management Software is advantageous.
  • A comprehensive understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their influence on project success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and subcontractors.
  • A business-oriented mindset and professionalism when representing the employer at any level.

Compensation and Benefits

The Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Building Sector can anticipate:

  • A competitive base salary commensurate with experience, typically ranging from $75,000 to $95,000.
  • A discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • A vehicle or vehicle allowance.
