We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware, at our general pediatrics stepdown unit. This part-time position requires 24 hours of work per week, with rotating 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, and holiday rotation.

About the Unit

Our 2 West unit is a surgical intermediate care unit with a diverse patient population requiring post-operative care for urological issues, traumatic injuries, and general surgery. We also care for patients with acute and end-stage renal disease and those requiring an intermediate level of nursing care due to tracheostomy and/or ventilator needs.

Each patient room is equipped with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers, enabling our healthcare team to access electronic medical records. The patient care complexity directly relates to the wide range of skills required for this diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care
  • Manage chest tubes, pain, blood products, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and central line care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to make appropriate patient assignments based on patient and family needs and nursing skill set
Requirements
  • BSN preferred; associate's degree with a commitment to obtain BSN within three years
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • At least 6 months of nursing experience required
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Eligible for or current DE nursing license
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
