Position Overview

The role of the Senior Communications Strategist at Genentech involves spearheading the communications approach for various initiatives and specific teams, ensuring effective execution from inception to completion.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy tailored to specific projects and groups.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably in business, public relations, marketing, or communications.
  • An MBA or a related advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Over 8 years of pertinent experience in writing and communications.
  • More than 5 years of experience in change management, specifically in developing communication strategies around significant organizational changes.
  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors is highly preferred, along with a solid understanding of the healthcare industry.
  • Proven corporate communications experience is essential; marketing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to create strategic communication plans, particularly during periods of transition, focusing on executive communications and employee engagement.
  • A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple projects independently and effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments while maintaining composure and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
