The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the organization's manufacturing and engineering processes by ensuring the proper use of tools, materials, and procedures. They also work with the quality team to create and maintain standards for manufactured products.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the internal audit function for the quality system.
- Use the internal audit system to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the documentation change management system.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to develop PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions, utilizing risk assessments to ensure process controls deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Perform MSA and capability studies of new and current gages and equipment.
- Address quality rejects, including customer-returned material.
- Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques.
- Assist with process improvements and data analysis.
- Conduct process capability studies and quality audits.
- Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews.
- Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong project management skills and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in the use of Minitab or other statistical analysis programs.
- Proficient in the understanding of Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in understanding of APQP and program management techniques.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical engineering, with 2-5 years of experience required.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in Quality-related statistics.
- Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred or attained within one year of hire/placement.
- Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
