Job Overview

Location: Urban Area
Shift: Thursday to Monday, 3 PM - 11:30 PM; Tuesday to Saturday, 3 PM - 11:30 PM
Compensation: $18 per hour plus a $0.50/hour shift premium.

The Maintenance Custodian is tasked with a variety of responsibilities to ensure the effective operation of the parking facility, while providing exceptional service that surpasses client expectations. The role involves general upkeep and repair of parking equipment as required by the facility's needs. The Maintenance Custodian collaborates closely with team members, the Operations Manager, and/or the Shift Supervisor to uphold operational standards consistently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute janitorial duties (such as trash disposal, mopping, vacuuming, etc.) across multiple parking sites, with the capability to perform minor repairs or install signage.
  • Familiarity with equipment is essential. Training for advanced equipment is available, with a $1/hour increase upon successful completion of the training program after a minimum of 90 days of employment.
  • Conduct lawn maintenance tasks including mowing, raking, fertilizing, and clearing debris from landscaped areas and parking garages, as well as trimming trees and bushes as instructed.
  • Utilize ParkItDesk for tracking and updating work orders.
  • Manage snow removal to keep walkways, garages, and entrances clear during winter, employing snow plows, shovels, snow blowers, salt spreaders, and ice chippers.
  • Operate city vehicles and refuel as necessary.
  • Perform power washing tasks as directed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in various weather conditions (sunshine, rain, snow, heat, dust, etc.).
  • Assist as a cashier during special events or to cover breaks for other employees.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance by wearing uniforms while on duty.
  • Monitor stock levels and supplies effectively.
  • Manage all tools and equipment necessary for performing assigned duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language; must be friendly, composed, cooperative, able to work independently, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of pressure washers and power tools, with the ability to tow a trailer.
  • Experience operating a snow plow is advantageous.
  • Capability to drive various types of vehicles (both automatic and manual transmission).
  • Familiarity with parking-related machinery.
Education and Specialized Knowledge Requirements
  • Prior experience in general maintenance and repair tasks.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Basic technical education is preferred.
