Job Title:

Physician Assistant - Primary Care Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Brooklyn Heights. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting, working closely with our supervising physician to coordinate and deliver high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical services and care in conjunction with the supervising physician, including medical histories, physical exams, ECGs, and other clinical care.
  • Coordinate the ongoing care of established patients, ensuring timely completion of diagnostic testing, sub-specialty consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinate the care of new patients, ensuring timely completion of diagnostic testing, sub-specialty consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Assist the physician in surgeries and/or procedures, as needed.
  • Obtain initial histories and perform physical examinations, documenting clinical findings in patient medical records.
  • Develop and implement plans of care in conjunction with the supervising physician.
  • Issue prescriptions for drugs, devices, and immunizations, as indicated.
  • Provide health education counseling to patients and families, answering questions about disease and treatment plans.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, answering questions and referring questions to the physician as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain a clinical and research database, assisting the physician with the coordination of clinical trials.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited program.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Approximately 2 years of work experience in a clinical setting, highly desired.
  • Prior experience with coordinating clinical protocols, desired.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • A team-oriented individual who works collaboratively to achieve team goals.
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant License & Registration.
  • Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants, Inc (NCCPA).
  • BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS or PALS (if applicable).
