Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at UTMB Health. As a Medical Assistant II, you will provide technical, supportive, and age-specific patient care functions for assigned clinical areas. You will work as a member of a Patient Centered Medical Home clinical team or in a role that includes routine administrative and clinical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care functions, including vital signs, specimen collection, and medication administration.
  • Assist with patient flow within assigned outpatient clinic settings.
  • Respond to call-lights and provide comfort measures to patients and families.
  • Perform technical and supportive patient care skills, incorporating the patient's plan of care and following approved policy and procedure.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and demonstrate acceptable productivity and cost containment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or other) required.
  • CPR Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a medical setting.
  • Urology experience and/or office procedures preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
