Position Overview:
The Practical Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients at Grand View Health, working closely with individuals and their primary care teams to provide high-quality, efficient healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to ensure they have the necessary information for outstanding patient care.
- Welcome, guide, and interview patients while preparing examination rooms for the healthcare provider.
- Manage daily incoming office communications, entering data into the electronic health record (EHR) for physician review and follow-up as needed.
- Utilize computer systems to collect information, analyze patient data, and coordinate appointment scheduling.
- Review medication requests and prescriptions, notifying patients when appointments are necessary.
- Coordinate essential laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Accurately measure vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight, ensuring efficient data entry into the system.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct tests such as EKGs, pulmonary function tests, audiometric assessments, and vision examinations, setting up any additional tests as requested by the healthcare provider.
- Communicate test results to patients under the provider's guidance and address any inquiries they may have.
- Administer injections and perform venipuncture as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing and a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in an acute care environment.
