Membership Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Membership Director to lead our membership team at the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing membership strategies that support recruitment and retention of members, as well as supervising staff and promoting programs and services.

• Develop and implement membership strategies to recruit and retain members, including creating a member-focused culture and modeling relationship-building skills.
• Supervise and train staff, including recruiting, hiring, and developing personnel and volunteers as needed.
• Promote programs and services to existing and potential members, including coordinating with marketing efforts and providing support to Program Directors.
• Assist in fundraising efforts and annual sustaining campaigns.
• Provide leadership on the organization's marketing and brand awareness efforts, including updates on the YMCA's website and member engagement emails.
• Ensure proper implementation of front desk procedures and review and update desk procedures as needed.
• Organize membership events and represent the YMCA at community events to promote the organization.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the community.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, with a focus in sales and marketing, or equivalent work experience.
• Three to five years of experience in member/customer service supervisory/management position.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and communication skills.
• Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media outreach.
