About the Role

Optum is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and producing accurate mammographic images for successful diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality patient care and mammographic imaging procedures, ensuring accurate anatomical orientation and proper file identification.
  • Demonstrate competency in all mammographic procedures and equipment operation, maintaining quality standards and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Greet patients, obtain medical history, and enter information into our computer system, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Obtain mammographic images according to established guidelines, maintaining logs and processing paperwork for biopsies.
  • Utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years, maintaining CPR certification.
  • Provide coverage as needed, including instruction and mentoring to new hires, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain effective communication with radiologists, patients, and families, addressing any concerns or questions.
Requirements
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) (M) certification
  • Digital Mammography certification
  • Electronic medical records experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine
  • 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist
  • EPIC EMR experience
Physical Demands
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Able to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for equipment operation
  • Correctable eyesight to 20/20 for equipment operation and film review
