Position Overview: We are in search of an ABPN Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who can secure an unrestricted medical license in Virginia. This role is part of a faculty position associated with a prominent teaching and tertiary referral center.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide direct clinical services, engage in teaching medical students, supervise residents and fellows, and integrate research with clinical practice. There are collaborative research opportunities with esteemed neuroscientists.
Call Coverage: Shared among a team of five Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
Clinical Focus: The division specializes in caring for children and adolescents facing atypical development, significant stressors, or emerging mental health issues, including substance use disorders. Outpatient services are accessible for children and adolescents.
Family-Centered Care: Our team collaborates with families to assess and treat various mental health conditions, offering tailored treatment plans that may include therapy, medication, or both.
Inpatient Services: We provide inpatient care for children aged 5-17, focusing on crisis stabilization, diagnostic assessments, and both individual and family therapy, alongside group therapy options.
Therapeutic Groups: Our inpatient group therapies encompass coping skills, music therapy, and art therapy, designed to assist children in managing their challenges.
Partnership with Virginia Tech Carilion: Our fellowship program trains skilled and compassionate child psychiatrists, enhancing services in the region.
