Key Responsibilities:

The Radiation Therapist plays a crucial role in administering radiation therapy treatments to patients. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and documenting radiation therapy treatments accurately under the supervision of a radiation oncologist.
  • Maintaining precise patient treatment records in the electronic medical system.
  • Assisting in the training of new therapists and students.
  • Coordinating patient appointment schedules and ensuring accurate billing information.
  • Creating custom molds and cutting blocks as necessary.
  • Performing simple mu calculations and interpreting computerized treatment plans.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Radiation Therapist position will possess:
  • A degree from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification and a valid state license for radiation therapy.

Physical and Work Environment Demands:

The physical demands of this role require the ability to sit, use hands for handling tasks, and occasionally stand, walk, and reach. The candidate must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and have vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
