About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Café Cook to join our team at Carilion Health System. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food according to standard recipes and guidelines.
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
  • Participate in department activities, including meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete all general food service tasks as assigned, including cashiering, tray assembly, and delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to hospital standards.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation preferred.
  • SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department required.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask as needed.
